Cambridge Innovation Center, Stationsplein, Groothandelsgebouw, 4th floor Rotterdam
09:30 – 12:00 CET
The European Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Policy Platform (EKIP), together with Upstream Festival Rotterdam, is pleased to announce an upcoming cross-collaboration side event at the Cambridge Innovation Center Rotterdam on May 22, from 09:30 to 12:00, focused on the role of the creative layer in Europe’s deep tech landscape.
During this event, we will examine how Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) can accelerate deep-tech innovation—from sense-making and user experience to adoption, experimentation, and ecosystem building. At the same time, we will explore how deep tech capabilities can open up new creative, cultural, and economic opportunities for CCIs.
Together, we will identify where these two domains intersect, what each can gain from the other, and how EU innovation policy can strengthen this relationship within open innovation ecosystems.
The main objective of the event is to develop clear, actionable EU policy recommendations to support this emerging space and build stronger, more future-ready innovation pathways for Europe.
We aim to achieve this by giving a voice to actors in these fields across the participating cities in this project. That is why we invite all curious minds from Rotterdam and the surrounding region to reflect on this topic.
Guest speakers will be announced shortly.
