“Policy recommendation based on “Desire” – Designing the Irresistible Circular Society”

Desire, the first New European Bauhaus (NEB) Lighthouse Demonstration project to finish, held a conference in the European Parliament on 20 November 2024, where a list of recommendations designed for Members of the European Parliament and policymakers at the European Commission where shared. The recommendations align with the upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028-2034, the mission letters issued by President Ursula von der Leyen, and the Annual Work Program of the European Commission.

This publication by Culture Action Europe emphasizes the vital role of culture as the “fourth pillar” of sustainability, advocating its integration into global and European strategies alongside economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Included in the report is an analysis of global policies as of 2022, it identifies emerging trends, analyses progress towards the UNESCO Convention’s objectives and highlight’s key challenges. Concluding with a series of policy recommendations.
