The European music ecosystem finds itself at a pivotal crossroads of opportunities and challenges in the 21st century. Emerging technologies, particularly AI, and the dominance of technology-driven platforms have reshaped the production, distribution, and consumption of music. These forces, while unlocking new creative and commercial opportunities, also pose significant risks, including power consolidation, reduced artistic agency, and inequities in access to resources and audiences. As a result, the need for open, collaborative, and inclusive structures within the European music ecosystem has never been more urgent.

Join us at Tallin Music Week on Thursday, 3 April 2025 where we will be exploring strategies to reinforce the European music ecosystem, emphasising open innovation that empowers artists, strengthens intermediaries, and leverages AI and other emerging technologies for collective benefit. Together, we aim to propose recommendations to create a resilient and dynamic ecosystem that is able to compete globally and increase the sector’s cultural, social, and economic impact.
