Online Webinar

TIME:

11:00 am – 1:00 pm CET

DESCRIPTION:

The European Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Policy Platform (ekip) invites you to this online Policy Corner webinar to discuss how innovation policy can better enable Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) to access, use, and benefit from the spaces and infrastructures that make experimentation, collaboration, and long-term ecosystem development possible.

About this webinar

Innovation infrastructures are more than facilities: they are shared environments that combine resources, capabilities, and support services to enable hands-on learning, prototyping, and collaboration. Crucially, they also rely on ongoing “infrastructuring” work: coordination, facilitation, stewardship, and maintenance, which shapes who can participate and whether innovation efforts endure beyond short project cycles.

This Policy Corner explores infrastructures through an ecosystem lens, recognizing that barriers for CCIs are often not only about missing spaces or equipment but also about limited intermediation capacity, weak coordination, and unequal access across territories.

With EU strategies focusing more on technology infrastructures, this webinar provides a chance to think about how CCIs can be better acknowledged and supported in innovation policies, especially to improve collaboration between different sectors, make things more accessible, and ensure they last over time.

 Webinar Agenda

  • 11:00 – 11:30 – Trend forecasting presentation

In the first part of the webinar, ekip’s social media listening and trend forecasting results related to spaces, infrastructures, and innovation ecosystems will be presented. An overview of findings will be provided, followed by the presentation of one trend derived from this analysis.

  • 11:30 – 12:00 – Scenarios presentation

In the second part of the webinar, we will present an overview of the topic, and the interpretation ekip is giving to it.

  • 12:00 – 13:00 – Collective Discussion (Policy Corner)

In the third part, an interactive discussion with webinar participants will be facilitated, focusing on four scenarios for the platformisation of the music industry to be collectively discussed.

 Target Audience

  • CCI professionals and organizations (including freelancers, SMEs, hubs, and venues) looking to strengthen their innovation capacity and access enabling environments
  • Managers and facilitators of creative spaces and innovation infrastructures (labs, hubs, intermediaries, networks)
  • Policymakers and public innovation actors working at EU, national, regional, or city level on innovation, culture, and territorial development
  • Researchers and education providers interested in ecosystem-building and cross-sector collaboration
  • Innovation agencies, funders, and ecosystem builders working on access, coordination, and sustainability of shared infrastructures

About ekip

ekip is an EU-funded flagship project that follows the principles of open innovation to establish a policy recommendation engine driven by partners and the active involvement of 40+ CCI networks. This engine will continuously promote the development and adoption of policy recommendations for CCIs, resulting in support and guidance that enhances the ability of CCI actors to participate in and contribute to complex innovation processes.
