DESCRIPTION:

The European Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Policy Platform (ekip) is pleased to announce an upcoming Policy Lab focused on the role of cultural and creative industries in Europe’s deep-tech landscape. 

This lab will examine how Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) can accelerate deep-tech innovation, from sense-making and user experience to adoption, experimentation, and ecosystem building. At the same time, we will explore how deep-tech capabilities can open new creative, cultural, and economic possibilities for CCIs. 

The goal of this policy lab is to develop concrete policy recommendations that:  

  1. Strengthen the ability of CCIs to adopt and apply deep tech (e.g., AI, XR, advanced computing, biotech, blockchain), across new business models, revenue streams, products, and cross – sector innovation opportunities .
  2. Position CCIs not only as adopters of deep tech, but as active co – creators who shape its design, applications, and societal implications from the earliest stages of development.

The lab thus aims both to remove barriers to deep tech uptake in CCIs and to ensure that cultural and creative actors play a formative role in defining how these technologies evolve.
