The gaming industry has evolved rapidly but still struggles with diversity and inclusion, especially within its workforce, where women and non-binary individuals remain underrepresented. This lack of representation hampers creativity, limits innovation and can foster toxic work environments. Yet, gaming holds vast potential: inclusive games can foster empathy, prosocial behaviour and mental well-being among players and spectators alike, while diverse development teams consistently outperform less diverse ones and contribute to a more resilient creative ecosystem.
