VENUE:

ONLINE

TIME:

May 7th 2025, from 11:00am – 1:00pm

DESCRIPTION:

The European Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Policy Platform (ekip) invites you to this webinar, where we will explore how eco-design can drive circularity in the European fashion industry and transform current challenges into opportunities.

 About this webinar

The fashion and textiles industry is at a pivotal moment, facing increasing pressure to transition toward sustainable, circular, and responsible production models. As one of the 14 strategic sectors identified in the EU’s Industrial Strategy, the fashion industry must integrate eco-design principles that prioritize durability, reparability, recyclability, and resource efficiency.

Despite growing awareness, fragmented supply chains, high recycling costs, and resistance from fast fashion models pose significant barriers. At the same time, emerging EU policies, sustainable design innovations, and shifts in consumer behaviour are creating new market opportunities for circular fashion.

This webinar will bring together industry experts, policymakers, designers, and researchers to explore how eco-design strategies can accelerate circularity, improve value chain transparency, and enhance consumer engagement in sustainable fashion practices.

Webinar Agenda

  • 11:00 – 11:30 – Trend forecasting presentation

In the first part of the webinar, the social media listening and trend forecasting on Fashion Transitions with a focus on Eco-Design for Circularity within the context of ekip will be presented. An overview of findings will be provided, followed by the presentation of one trend derived from this analysis.

  • 11:30 – 12:00 – Scenarios presentation

In the second part of the webinar, we will present an overview of the topic, and the interpretation ekip is giving to it.

  • 12:00 – 13:00 – Collective Discussion (Policy Corner)

In the third part, an interactive discussion with webinar participants will be facilitated, focusing on four scenarios for Fashion Transitions through Eco-Design for Circularity to be collectively discussed.
