DESCRIPTION:

The New European Bauhaus (NEB) is a EU interdisciplinary flagship initiative bringing the world of science and technology and art and culture together. It was launched in 2020, to connect the EU Green Deal with the everyday lives and experiences of citizens.

Its main aim is to inspire society to envision and create a future that is beautiful, sustainable and inclusive and this includes the competencies of CCI as one of the key assets for achieving a more sustainable future. NEB mobilizes several EU research & innovation funding instruments to support the achievement of its objectives.

In the online ekip Policy Corner we investigated the challenges and opportunities connected to this specific policy area of interest by asking the following questions.

Which innovation policies and current funding instruments enable the participation of the cultural and creative industries (CCI) in the green transition of European society? How?

  • Has the New European Bauhaus (NEB) been a catalyst for CCI to participate in the green transition so far?
  • Which transition roles for CCI actors are particularly stimulated through NEB?
  • To what extent is NEB completed with other support mechanisms (policy instruments and other) that encourage the CCI to take up roles in the green transition?
