Immersive Media in the CCIs

Immersive media like virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) are revolutionizing how we create and experience content. From 3D movies and video games to documentaries and cultural activities, these innovations are reshaping creative processes and deepening audience engagement. However, smaller players in the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) often face financial and skill-related challenges in adopting immersive technologies. Our policy lab on “Immersive Technologies in the CCIs” will explore these issues and develop actionable policy recommendations to support ongoing innovation, particularly for independent creators and artists.

• What are current fallbacks and strengths of the EU in this field?
• What are the ongoing policy initiatives related to immersive media across the EU?
